Columbus Massage Center would like to help dispel the massage myths and introduce you to the many benefits of massage.  Massage is not just for relaxation and pampering, although receiving massage for those reasons is okay too.  Research has shown that massage can help us on many levels and has many benefits.  In today’s society our lifestyles are increasingly more hectic and our little aches and pains are often ignored until they can no longer be tolerated and become so intense that our life becomes centered around dealing with the hurt.  Massage allows the body to relax and the feeling of ease to return.  Your therapist will asses your individual situation and work with you to make your massage experience both enjoyable and as therapeutic as possible.

The most important thing to remember during your massage is communication.  You must communicate very clearly with your therapist and describe the limitations, pain or restrictions you are experiencing and the history of your “hurt”.  We want you to tell us when you feel the pressure is too intense or too light, or if you feel we may need to pay more attention to a painful area.  This is your time and your session.  If you would like your time spent on relaxation and just want to escape for an hour, tell your therapist, we want you happy with your time spent with us and feel for yourself the benefits of massage.
