      We arrived at 11:50 for a 12:00 appointment. There was no one at the front desk so we sat down and waited. At 12:15 the massage therapist came out and asked my wife if she was ready. My wife responded that she had been ready since 12:00. The massage therapist rolled her eyes and without saying a word turned around and my wife followed her to the back. I left a review detailing what I considered poor customer service. At the conclusion of the massage the missus made another appointment for a couple of weeks later. The massage center seeing my review texted wifie and canceled her appointment. When she asked why, they said it was because of the negative review. As a staunch customer service advocate I always leave reviews, positive or negative. These folks apparently do not want to do business with anyone who knows and understands good customer service.

      I was contacted by the massage therapist to adjust the schedule time of my massage, which was fine with me, but I also took that opportunity to discuss an accommodation that I needed. I didn't ask for anything inappropriate, and I would never visit a place that would entertain inappropriate requests. My massage appointment was pretty abruptly canceled. I needed my wife present in the room so that I could relax instead of tense up during the massage.

      I shared the full text of the conversation with a close friend in another state that is also a massage therapist, because I was pretty upset that I said something wrong to make the lady uncomfortable. I was assured that my request was actually pretty normal, and that I should have shared some additional details about why I needed that accommodation that I had left out. I was also told that if the therapist I talked to had the same training that my friend has, she also would not have seen the request as odd. I was advised by my friend to attempt to speak to a manager, and she stressed that it needed to be a phone call, not an email, and discuss my needs and disclose the full reason I needed the accommodation, and see if there was another therapist that would be a good fit. My request for a phone call with the manager was responded to with an email that made some very incorrect assumptions about why I was unset, and unwillingness to further discuss the matter.

      My wife would actually need the same accommodation that I do, just for very different reasons, as she is blind. I suspect that she would have the same experience I had. I understand that misunderstandings can happen, but when a place is unwilling to resolve them, then that becomes a problem. I would not recommend going to this place if you need any kind of special accommodation.

      As someone that has a very close friend that is a massage therapist, I am acutely aware of the need of massage therapists to feel safe with clients, and have the ability to screen clients. Clients also have the need to be able to feel safe and relax during the experience as well though.

      Finial interaction with manager was quite hostile on her part, and I suspect sexist.

      If you're looking for a place in Columbus to get a massage please try this place out! They are great at getting you in (even last minute!) and everyone has been great! Vicki is definitely my favorite so far. They have a salon side as well but I've not tried that part out. They also offer a great selection of essential oils if you are looking for them!

      I cannot say enough about how much I love CMC! The entire staff is friendly & always makes me feel valued as a client. CMC is the ONLY place around I will go for nail services. They maintain a very clean environment & always take their time. Well worth the price, in my opinion.

      CMC recently moved into a much bigger building on 17th (moving from Central Ave. in Columbus, IN). The move was needed and has allowed the good folks there tons of space to expand their services. I've visited several times for a 60-min massage from different therapists and they have all been fantastic. I continue to make appointments with Vickie Hildreth who is friendly, professional and makes a terrific effort to understand why exactly you have come in. Thumbs up to CMC and staff!

      Columbus Message Center now has two locations and I have been to both. Very clean friendly staff and do believe yesterday I had the best message ever! Thank you to owner, Dana Greathouse, for running a great business in Columbus!
